These remarkable structure,” the members pavilion” , part of a landmark that has stood for over 150 years, will undergo a comprehensive restoration that’s expected to take more than a year and cost in excess of £12 million. The Player’s balconies they’re working on includes original oak that has witnessed generations of international and County cricket teams at one of England’s most celebrated sporting venues.
Trent Bridge Cricket Ground itself holds an iconic status in the world of sport. Established in the late 1830s, it is one of cricket’s oldest and most revered grounds, regularly hosting Test matches, One-Day Internationals, and county games, where some of the sport’s greatest moments have unfolded.
For Green Key Restoration, this project is more than just a job, it’s a continuation of their mission to safeguard heritage. From refurbishing vandalised statues in local parks to restoring historic windows in listed schools and now preserving this treasured bridge, the company’s work demonstrates a deep commitment to craftsmanship, community, and cultural legacy.
As the refurbishment progresses over the coming year, it will not only restore three iconic balconies but also ensure this historic landmark remains part of Nottingham’s skyline and the cricketing experience for generations to come.
